Science!

Today I had science class. I learned about weight and the theme is grams. My teacher told us that professional scientists use grams to weigh things. We did a project so we know how heavy a kilogram weighs but we have to use gravel. Each pairs partner has to make 100 grams. First I got a 100 grams from ms.Frye. Second I put gravel into the cup on the scale until it is balenced out. Finally you bag it up and give it to Ms.Frye. After all of the groups hand it in we get to feel it in our hands. IT WAS FUN!

  1. Hender, just a little bit more concepts. Gram is the unit for mass, not the weight. Pound is the unit for the weight. What difference? Mass never change in the whole universe, 100 grams of gravel is still 100 grams if you take them to the moon; but 6 pounds of gravel will only weight 1 pound if you bring them to the moon because the gravity of moon is only one sixth of that of Earth. So the weight is measured by the gravity (of the Earth or of the moon), but the mass is not dependent on the gravity. Got it?
